1. This week, sharing this beautiful watch from Hermes.

I love this watch so much and think it’d make such a nice flash of color on the wrist. Ahh! Of course if you want to play the H “game” you would buy this in store, not on NAP, but it’s nice to look at it here, no? I like the green stitching detail on the tan.

2. A short piece, via Vogue UK, about how maxi skirts are coming back. For once, I actually bought one of these last season and haven’t worn it yet. So looking forward to getting ideas!

3. I really enjoyed this article, via the NYT, about MZ Wallace. I’ve eyed their bags a few times but haven’t done it. I like their philosophy! Does anyone here have their bags?

4. Also enjoyed this piece, via the Guardian, about how in 2023, looking sloppy will be the “height” of fashion. I’m typing this in sweatpants so eagerly await this.

5. This week, I read Very Cold People, by Sarah Manguso.

This is a shorter novel (noting this for those who have complained I have too many longer recs!). It’s fiction, about a young girl who grows up with what I can only describe as terrible parents. And I loved it – it’s so well written first of all, and just different than a lot of what I’ve been reading lately. However, not what I would recommend if you’re looking for something very quick/thrillery. If you are looking for a literary read, I recommend Very Cold People.

I really like MZW! For multiple years, I used a Crosby Traveler for work and overnight travel bag, and a Micro Crosby as small practical crossbody. Both look just fine now, maybe a little smushed but otherwise intact. The medium metro deluxe is the perfect size to use as a big ‘personal item’ on flights and the mini metro deluxe (which is bigger than its name suggests) has been great as daily crossbody now that I have a young child and usually need to carry a few more things.

TRR often has basically new MZW bags at 50% or less of retail, though then you’re bound by their rigid no return policy!

Love MZW. I use the metro tote for a quick overnight or if I need to bring a big carryon. Great for ski trips. Comes with 3 pouches which love. Great bag to carry baby/kid stuff and easy to clean. They make a great belt bag as well.

I am a long-time MZW fan – great travel and work bags, and many small utilitarian bags perfect for running around with kids and bad weather. I’ve commented before about being a fellow fan of bags from The Row and Bottega Veneta; I love having carefree options with MZW! If you are still in the market for a metallic bag, check out their current color anthracite. I’ve been enjoying the Metro crossbody in that color this winter!
