Weekend Update

Sale PSA: A lovely Samantha Morrow midi dress, now under $250, a simple tweed jacket from Theory, now $125, a very cute merino cardigan from Vince, now 60% off, and

1. This week, sharing a fun pair of shoes (also on sale) – these silver fisherman loafers, from J.Crew.

J.Crew, $124 with J.Crew Passport signin

I ordered these! Review and photos to come in a purchases post. I like them and thought they would be fun for outfits. And they look comfortable. I’ll update on how they actually are though – the price was right and yes, I did order them with the Row’s metallic fisherman sandals in mind.

2. On the topic of The Row – I enjoyed this piece, via The Cut, on how to afford The Row. Yes, how can we!! I need tips!

3. A great article, via the NYT, about a company giving second life to luxury deadstock fabric. I would love to touch all that double face cashmere!

3. I really enjoyed this piece, via the NYT, about what happened to people who quit their jobs in the last few years. I love reading about how happy they are!

5. This week I read Voices From Chernobyl, by Svetlana Alexeivich.

This has been on my list a while – I had it and forgot about it and recently found it again. I would describe this read as both simple and difficult….Alexievich’s manner is very direct and she connects these stories in a way that builds and builds until the end when you’re stunned by all the people she gave a voice. If you’re looking for a haunting, elegant, beautifully written non-fiction read, I highly recommend Voices from Chernobyl.

Yoox and Outnet are excellent spots for The Row. Scored the Sidekick back about a year ago for under $500, with free shipping. It was pristine, although it didn’t come with The Row packaging.

It’s really, really good! Surprisingly sturdy and extremely well made. I kind of baby it tho’ because I don’t think I can afford anything else from The Row, but I can see it taking a hammering and still looking good.

Hey Kat, unrelated to this specific post but question on your Hermes Oran – do you have sole protectors for them? If so any recommendations? If not, how do they hold up? Thank you

I was so happy to see Neelam Ahooja’s piece on The Cut. I have been following her on Insta for some time now, and I love her impeccable style.
