Some (Ugly?) Sandals

I recently bought these sandals. My husband hates them. I actually discovered them when a friend sent me a picture and asked if they were ugly. I didn’t know but I couldn’t stop staring at them and so I bought them. Here they are!

This is my first time buying Sorel shoes. Well, maybe I bought them years ago for East Coast winters but I don’t really remember anything about them. I’d always associated the brand with boots. But this pair of shoes just intrigued me so much – the color and the tread sole and the buckle and everything – that I decided to give them a chance. They were $100 so not bad, and I vowed to only keep them if they were super comfortable. And they are. I figure I will try them out as summer shoes for short hikes and longer regular walks…they are super light and I personally love the color.

A quick shot of them on. I don’t think they are that different than Birkenstocks, right? I am a 6.5 and actually went up to a 7 in these, even though the reviews say they run large. I just prefer to have that extra room in the summer. Anyway, these are fun and have some arch support. I’ll update on how they wear as the weather warms up. And I’ll just tell my husband to avert his eyes!
