Weekend Update

A cashmere turtleneck dress from Everlane, now 50% off, a chic wool/cashmere black polo sweater from Vince, now 60% off, and a breezy pullover from Billabong, now just $40.

Also my latest Etsy find – this shop of the most gorgeous embroidery. I am dying for one of Jupiter! The artist is so talented.

1. This week, sharing a very beautiful Bottega tote which I am quite obsessed with.

I haven’t liked a Bottega bag this much in a while! The price is ugh, naturally. But it just looks so beautiful – soft and luscious and fun to carry and while I like the shoulder strap option I think it looks prettiest by the handle. The size is perfect…small enough to be easy but still with enough space for the basics like phone, wallet, etc. And I like the magnetic closure. One to add to the list for sure.

2. A piece, via the NYTimes, about how logos have lost their power on the new Gossip Girl. I felt really old this week because a) I have zero desire to watch this show and then b) HBO announced this was their most watched premiere (on HBO Max) ever? Have any of you seen it?

3. I know so many of you are excited about Phoebe Philo’s return to fashion. I am too! This piece, via the NYT, has some details.

4. Sharing this article, via The Cut, about how the pandemic impacted four different marriages. Some interesting responses here!

5. This week, I’m recommending Empire of Pain, by Patrick Radden Keefe.

I thought I’d recommended this earlier but I just realized from a comment left by Xin that I had not! This book was so, so good. Keefe is one of those non-fiction authors who is an instant “must buy” for me – I’ve read everything he’s ever written I think. And I thought I was sick of reading about the Sacklers/Oxy! And yet Keefe made this topic come to life, with new insights and details and plus he’s just a really good writer. One of my favorite reads this year so far.
