Earlier this month, I shared my beauty favorites of 2014 with you all, and so enjoyed all of your product recommendations. I’ve already ordered some since, and have discovered some great items that I think will be showing up on my list for 2015!
Today, I’m following up with some of my skincare favorites of 2014. Enjoy and please share yours! I am a skincare junkie – more than beauty by far!
Clinique Superdefense SPF: Still one of my favorite morning SPF + moisturizers in one, although over the years as I’ve aged (sob) I’ve had to transition from the oily skin version to the dry. Such is life. The only downside is that it’s a little expensive, which is why I’ve also used…
Neutrogena Healthy Skin Anti Wrinkle Cream: Quite effective, I like that it has a light dose of retinol, and the tube it comes in is much more sanitary I have to say than Clinique’s jar format.
Vivant Mandelic Acid 8%: My dermatologist recommended this to me earlier in the year to help with clogged pores and I use it every other night before my moisturizer. Fabulous and helps to keep your skin clear.
Tatcha Camellia Cleansing Oil: My favorite cleansing oil! I am definitely late to the whole “oil cleansing” trend, though I did try it with some Shu Uemera samples years ago (when Shu actually had counters at Nordstrom still). It didn’t really work out for me, and over the years I tried other oil cleansers sporadically. I never found one convincing enough to make the switch however, until I tried Tatcha’s. Great pump design, wonderful cleanser.
Ole Henriksen Truth Serum: Not pictured, but I use this several times a week at night time just to mix things up. I always feel like my skin glows and looks refreshed the next morning.
Mario Badescu Calming Mask: One of my favorite masks. I tend to get super flushed at times, and this mask totally calms my skin down, takes down the red. and makes it look great. I use it when I have time and remember before night time events.
Fresh Seaberry Oil and Josie Maran Argan Oil: I own the full sizes of each of these but adore the tiny little ones because they take up less size on my vanity and plus are incredibly useful for travel purposes. Instead of using a super heavy cream/moisturizer in the winter months or drier climates (like on a plane), I prefer using a few drops of oil before my moisturizer instead. Easier to manage.
Tatcha Deep Hydration Mask: I have a weakness for masks, and Tatcha’s, along with SK-II’s Facial Treatment Mask, are my favorites. I love how Tatcha’s is way better than the traditional paper mask – I think the material is a clear coconut pulp, and it stays on your face more easily, and without dripping product. These and the SK-II ones are expensive so I tend to save them for when I’m traveling – I use them about halfway through to give my face a refresh since flying and changing climates tends to stress out my skin.
What have been your skincare favorites this year?

December 1, 2014 at 10:34 amI just started using the Tatcha line a month ago, and I can honestly say it’s my skincare favourite of the year! Possibly of my life. Their line up for sensitive skin has been doing amazing things for my complexion.

December 1, 2014 at 7:15 pmInteresting, does mandolic acid work? Will have to try it.
My old time favorite mask is DR.Hauschka rejuvenating mask. I repurchase it year after year. I use it overnight. Lather it up and go to bed and in the morning wash my face the usual way. It hydrates, calms skin and my face just looks really refreshed the next morning. Smoothing mask is also good, but I keep it on for 20 minutes only. Recent discovery is sisley black rose mask. Splurge but totally worth it. I like it more than SK II mask.

December 1, 2014 at 9:00 pmThe olé henriksen truth serum is really great, I have to agree. I’ve gone through several bottles of that serum and usually get compliments on my skin. Another skincare line that I’ve been using this past year is from Darphin. Their oils for the skin is really great and zaps dry skin. I also really love their night intense cream! There really isn’t anything from the Darphin line that I don’t like, plus the light subtle scent is intoxicating.

December 2, 2014 at 12:49 pmI ordered the Tacha cleansing oil for my mother for Christmas. I’ve only used their mask (Love it!), lip balm and moisturizing oil. The lip balm is even better than the By Terry one I’ve been using. I saved it for the harsh Chicago winter since I’ll really need it in a few weeks!
