Weekend Update

1. Please allow me to share the latest item on my “please, please, make it in my size come sale time” list, this excellent intarsia star cardigan from MaxMara.

I’m a huge sucker for star prints (like this Equipment star blouse), along with huge, cozy knits. I’ve written several times about my love for cashmere, but as the months get warmer, I’ve been more and more drawn to cotton knits. This star print cardigan is so cool – I love the print and think it’d look great with just a plain tee and jeans. It would be the best thing to wear to an airport. I love it! And being from MaxMara, I know that the knit quality will be great.

Now, I’ll just hope it makes it to sale…

2. Many of you may have already read this now infamous rant, from a writer who accuses Elle Magazine of ruining his interview with designer Rei Kawakubo. In it, he manages to malign quite a few major publications – including Vogue, Atlantic, and of course Elle – and even talks smack about Anna Wintour! The read is interesting, though often cringe inducing, via The Observer – Elle on Earth. I’d love to hear your thoughts on it.
