Weekend Update

Sale PSA: A great knit jumpsuit from Theory, now 40% off, a long sleeve cardigan cashmere dress I’ve been eyeing forever from NAADAM, now under $100, a fun floral mini dress from Faithfull, now under $75, and a knit colorblock dress from DVF, now 40% off

1. Sharing my latest purchase – these fun platform Topshop sandals!

I hope they work out. I’ve been searching for some less expensive (Aka now $800 and designer) platform sandals and came across these the other day. Quite light, very comfortable but they didn’t have my size so I ordered online. I like the yellow color, a nice unexpected neutral but there’s also black!

PS: I also really wanted these leopard lower versions but they are out of my size! Ahh!

2. I liked this piece, via Vogue, about Tom Ford. I find Tom Ford so interesting. He seems like a perfectionist. I like reading about perfectionists and their thought process. I always feel like there’s something to learn.

4. Sharing this fun piece, via The Cut, of various women visiting Zitomer’s pharmacy/department store. Wow. Which one are you?

4. Another good article, via The NY Times, about why the world has a diamond glut.

5. This week, I read Random Family, by Adrian Nicole LeBlanc.

I read this book after seeing it mentioned in a (bad) review of a book I recommend a few weeks earlier, Three Women – I picked it up and have to say that I was so thrilled because it was so, so good and I absolutely could not put it down. I loved it. The entire thing. The book (which is non-fiction) follows an extended family in the Bronx and I can’t say anything more except that I wholeheartedly recommend. Beautiful writing, and the sort of story that makes you think long after the book is done. Highly recommend Random Family, one of my top reads of the year.

Kat, you may know this but I have read several times that Tom takes five baths a day (even if his trousers haven’t been cleaned lately). I have always thought he was a great looking guy, even if he’s on the “wrong team.”

I once saw photos of Tom’s horse ranch in Santa Fe, N.M. It was designed by Tadao Ando. I’ve never seen a horse facility that was as immaculate as his. Huge water features and gravel raked to perfection. I would have attached some photos but I didn’t think I could.

He’s one of a kind and I mean that in the very best way.

Tom Ford is #goals, his aesthetics are EVERYTHING. I’d live in a house he designed forever and not change a single thing, to be honest.
*I picked up on consignment two TF bags. Quality is 100. That man’s hands are magical
