Wishlist: Spring/Summer 19

For those celebrating, I hope you had a wonderful Mother’s Day! I woke up and had breakfast with the kids and then spent part of the day pretending that I was not a mother, alone in my house, online shopping. Ahhhhh wonderful (and then at night spent an hour fuming about this season of Game of Thrones). Here are some items I’ve eyeing for spring/summer – I’m actually very excited for it to get really warm!

A linen jumpsuit (Sanctuary, $159). The one above is the one I’ll likely order. I really like this smocked one too but I wonder about the usefulness versus the Sanctuary version, which I think can go casual much more easily. And it hides bra straps so a winner in my book.

A new bag! Yes! I’m really craving a bag in the Hermes color gold (and Vert Cypress too, if we’re counting). Right now I’m debating between the Lindy 26 or the Halzan 31. Any thoughts on the two? Obviously the Lindy is more $$. I would like it to be for everyday, a little bit bigger capacity than the smaller mini crossbody bags I usually wear.

Speaking of Hermes, I really like this verso change purse. But is it too small? I’ve found that sometimes getting a little accessory has prevented me from making a big bag mistake. I should probably get a bi-color calvi instead though, I just think change purses are so cute.

Jimmy Choo slide sandals, $525. These also come in a gold thatched version. I’ve found myself wearing my much less expensive Everlane wedge sandals so often that I’m in the market for a slightly nicer pair. I like these Choos the most but might try to wait for sale. By the way I really like the Manolo Blahnik Rapallatos as well but the heel is a bit higher. If you want them in hot pink or purple, you can already find them 64% off here!

Madewell Button Front Dress, $89. I have been waiting and waiting for the XS/Petite to come back in stock. Sold out forever! I’d take either the green or white. This dress seems perfect. I would pay full price as Madewell is slower with the codes/sales.

Loeffler Randall Woven Tote, $395. Love everything about this – the size, the fact that it is woven leather and not straw, the little handles. It even comes with a removable strap! The price is already reasonable but I think it’ll make it to sale. It also comes in a multi-color version, here.

Ray-Ban Classic Wayfarers, $153. I can’t find my expensive Gucci glasses anywhere in the house and am finally fed up and am going back to classic Ray-Bans. These are a small size and perfect for my face. Just deciding between black and tortoise (or the fun pink I saw in store).

What’s on your list for this season?

Love the color combo of the coin purse. However, I would want to try the practicality of it – will coins fall out if accidentally flipped upside down ?

I’m so annoyed with what they’ve done with Daenerys. They spent years setting up her story arc to be the breaker of chains to just blow it all up. Super frustrating!

I have Halzan 31 and Lindy 30. I love taking Lindy out when I don’t have the toddler with me as I found the Lindy sticks out quite a bit slips down on the shoulder and with a toddler that would be hugely annoying as I bend down all the time! Halzan on the other hand is toddler friendly. Generally I just find it impossible to wear a shoulder or handheld bag when I am with the toddler…

I tried the Madewell button front dress that you linked to, and found the fit to be relaxed for the style. You can probably size down if you are looking for a closer fit. Here’s a $25 off $75 code (IRP-SQV76ZRG6W) for Madewell that I just got which is valid until 05/20/19. (Feel free to delete my comment lest the code gets used by accident.)

I will caution against the Halzan 31 as it is in Clemence and rather heavy when you load it up. You may want to try it out first. I had one but it did not work out for me as it hurts my neck/shoulders when I use it cross body. But then, the Evelyne PM does not work for me for the same reason. If you are OK with the Evelyne PM then it will be fine for you. That said, the Halzan strap is much thinner (leather) and check if the fold over opening bothers you.
I am not a fan of the Lindy (26 or 31) as I find it bulky as in due to the wide rectangle base, it does stick out. And if you have to frequently bend over for your kids, the Lindy will fall forward. Have you looked into the Bastia coin purse? I like that one more than the Verso.

What is your favorite H bag?? I love the TPM. I can handle the PM but have had some weight issues lately too. I think I might try and order the 26 online so I can return it to H if it doesn’t work out..

My favorite H bag is the Evelyne TPM. No matter how much I rotate, I still go back to it. It works for my shoulders/upper back and fits enough of my essentials. I know it doesn’t fit kids stuff but that can be a separate tote or the husband’s backpack 😀 I had the Halzan mini as well but the fold over top bothered me after awhile and I still prefer the convenience of the Evelyne TPM. Hope this helps!

I’ve used the Verso coin purse (in H gold) for several years – mostly for my headset! I don’t baby it and have found it to be durable and secure, for coins as well; it’s one of my most-used small pieces. I have the Bastia as well – I like it too, but like the Verso’s expansive properties vs. the Bastia’s forced flatness.

While I’m here – Kat, happy 8th anniversary, and congratulations on your book! I’ve been reading here for 4 years, and appreciate your curations and perspectives. I came in H B/K community initial directs and revelry and stayed for the content. You’re since credited for my AGL, Bolide, Trim, and Evelyne collections!

    Thanks again for your perspectives!
