Wearing Lately

A few quick outfits from the last week, including the 4th of July weekend – I hope you all had a great holiday! Even though it’s summer, I’ve realized I still can’t stay away from my first wardrobe love – black. It’s a year round color to me, and I’ve finally accepted it.

By the way – I’ve had a few requests for a post on traveling with a baby – I am working on it!

Here I’m wearing the Leith tank dress here which I recommended on a Weekend Update a month or so ago – for those of you who were asking, here’s a picture of it on a shortie (I’m 5’1). It’s a substantial dress that could be worn in all seasons. If you’re taller it could easily be worn with flats as well, and would be a very comfortable year round dress, depending on how you layer it (super cute with a little cropped cardigan). It goes in and out of stock regularly, so I’d keep checking back if you don’t see your preferred size or color – there’s blush or black available.

I’ve been wearing this Gucci Soho Disco bag a lot since I got it a few weeks ago….also working on this review as well! I know it’s quite a popular little bag.

Madewell Moontide

Madewell dress, Jimmy Choo sandals (similar Choos here, also another great option for under $100 ), Hermes bag

Next up is this little Madewell dress. I have to say that I think Madewell has been hitting it out of the park this season, as well as J.Crew – I’ve picked quite a few items from each brand. This is a dress that didn’t look very good when I saw it online, but stood out in store. I love eyelet and there’s a lot of pretty eyelet details on this dress. The fabric is also a cotton/silk mix which is super soft and floaty.

I’ve been under the impression that this dress was black, and even when titling this post, originally had it as “Two Black Dresses”. On closer inspection in photos however, I think this dress is actually a very dark navy blue. The site says “deep navy,” I now realize…so….duh.

Madewell Moontide Hermes Soie Cool

I pulled out my Hermes Soie Cool bag (see review here) to wear with this dress. I used to be a little careful with this bag, since it’s barenia/silk, but over time I’ve become a lot more relaxed, and now easily throw it around. And it’s done really well!

I’ve seen Soie Cool bags show up on The Real Real for good prices, so I’d check there for a deal! It’s not as popular as a style as the Birkin/Kelly, for example.

I hope you all had a great weekend!

Hi Katherine! Love the Leith dress on you! I also picked up the Soho Disco bag in Camelia a few months ago! Is yours the Camelia color?

Oh, I just looked at my bag again and I guess mine is rose beige as well. For some reason Saks had it listed as a different color…

Anyway, it’s a great little bag!

Hi kat, do you find the rose beige colour suitable to wear all year round? Or is it more for the spring/summer? I’m debating between that colour and black!

    Dear Katherine,

Each outfit in this post – you look absolutely fantastic in! Love all the details (VCA and HOP) and everything looks amazing on you. As usual 😉

Hope you are enjoying your summer so far and that your home is all done and ready! Would love a post about the whole process of the fixing up and photos (before and after) since I’m sure many of your readers are into interior design as well. 🙂

Hope you have a brilliant weekend!

Thanks so much Ava!! I don’t think I’ll be ready to share my home for public consumption until I no longer have little children in the house…this is the sad truth, lol!
