This week marks the third year anniversary of this blog. Hip hip hooray!
Each year I like to ask for comments and suggestions for what you would like to see on Feather Factor, and this year is no different. If you have any suggestions, feedback, comments on this blog or what you’d like to see on it – please feel free to leave them in the comments, or email me at featherfactor@gmail.com. I truly appreciate any input you have.

This year, I also want to add my little plug for blogging in general. I receive quite a few emails and questions about starting a blog, and my advice is – if you are thinking one of – just do it! You can make it private at first if you aren’t comfortable with a wider audience, or just write about a specific niche, or go by a nom de plume for privacy. You can update it everyday, or just when you have time. Yes, there are tons of articles out there about why blogging is and isn’t dead, and yes, blogging can be a lot of work, and sometimes thankless. But nobody will give you more thanks for having a blog, than yourself. I have found blogging tremendously rewarding. I have met wonderful people through this blog, both online and in “real life”. And I have learned so much from my both my blogging peers and readers (and even the occasional nastygram). Blogging has been 100% worth it.
Thank you for choosing to spend some of your precious time on this site – whether you’re simply a reader, a commenter, an emailer, or any combination of the three. I appreciate it very much. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

March 5, 2014 at 8:40 amYour blog is always entertaining and mature. I especially enjoy the posts on how to save money and yet enjoy luxury. The interviews are fantastic.
There are 2 camps of sharing about our personal lives – either Instagram (if you don’t want to write very much or write very well) or blogging. Blogging is really for people who are storytellers or people who want to share ideas. Instagram is just eye candy. I don’t do either and I just follow. I am exposed to new ideas, trends, restaurants, tips, etc. that I otherwise wouldn’t have figured out myself.
Maybe finance and investment experts would be good interviews.

March 5, 2014 at 11:07 amI second the finance and investment expert interviews! I love reading your interviews and reading about successful and stylish women (and men) in different fields all over the world.
Also love your purse, shopping and little savings posts 🙂
Katherine
March 5, 2014 at 12:17 pmThank you Cassie! I will try and find more finance interviews in the future 🙂
Katherine
March 5, 2014 at 12:21 pmThank you a, and a perfect analysis on instagram versus blogging. I enjoy both as well. I will try to find more interviews in those areas!

March 5, 2014 at 12:36 pmWell you know I’m a geek for money, so obviously more of that is always going to be great, but I do love the balance of your variety here.

March 5, 2014 at 7:11 pmHappy 3 Years, Katherine! I always enjoy reading about your vacations and monthly favorites on your blog. This is probably a little creepy but I also love when you feature your dad on Instagram. Seems like such a fun person!
Katherine

March 6, 2014 at 1:00 amI have been fascinated by your blog since I discovered it three years ago. Your posts are well-written with a bit of humor which many undeniably enjoy. But what I like most about it is the fact that it’s not commercialize, like most other fashion-oriented blogs are.
You are unapologetic about having or wanting the finer and nicer things in life, which I like a lot. Keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing more!
On a different note, If it’s not too much of a trouble, I would love to see your collection–your handbag, fine jewelry, and shoes. Maybe not your whole collection, but your favorites. Also, how you store/organize the aforementioned things 🙂
Katherine
March 6, 2014 at 7:20 amHi Philip! Thanks so much. I think right now my organization is not fit for public viewing (and some of my items aren’t stored here) but one day!

March 6, 2014 at 1:10 amHappy 3 years to your blog! I enjoy your blog immensely and echo everyone’s sentiments above. Your blog is full of original content that is fresh, intelligent, and helpful. In fact, I am once again in Budapest for work and will be trying out the Taste Budapest tour this weekend based on your recommendation! I also tried to get reservations at Onyx but they were all booked =(.
Anyway, just wanted to say congrats and I always look forward to your posts!
Katherine
March 6, 2014 at 7:21 amHi Stephanie! Thank you so much and enjoy the Budapest tour! Did you check if Costes had an opening? They would be good too.

March 6, 2014 at 1:38 amHappy Anniversary Feather factor!!!!! I absolutely love this blog your experiences mixed with a delightful pinch of humour make F.F incredible:)
P.S. I was wondering if you could do a cam parison of the birkin 30 and kelly 32 what fits inside with the flaps opened and closed etc.
Katherine
March 6, 2014 at 7:21 amHi Lauren, thank you! I really appreciate it. I will try to do a post like that one day 🙂

I have been a reader for some time and have not actually commented on your blog before. I just wanted to say congratulations on your anniversary and that I really do enjoy reading your lovely blog. You inspired me to pick up my first Bolide and to endeavour to buy 30 items or less this year! As of March, I’m at just 2 items. My husband and bank account are eternally grateful!
