Ex Libris en Kimonos

Lately I have been feeling very lazy in the mornings while getting dressed for work, and most days will just throw on a tee and some comfortable bottom. A favorite uniform lately has been a white t-shirt + easy skirt + giant, warm shawl. By the way, like my recent Gap skirt, this Alexander Wang is also elastic waisted and super comfortable to wear. It also can be adjusted up or down for a variety of occasions.

My favorite shawls in my collection are my Hermes ones. I find them easier to wear than the silks, and a little more casual. They are gigantic (a plus in my book) and every season they come out with incredible designs. I picked out this one because I loved the colors and thought the green bits would go nicely with my Kelly. There are lots of little details in it that I love.

This particular pattern is called “Ex Libris en Kimonos”  and was issued in a variety of colorways in both silk and cashmere. The design is based off of historic kimono patterns from the Matsuzakaya archives.

That scarf is glorious, what beautiful colours.
I never wear scarfs, well only when it’s freezing in winter, they bother me too much.

Love the look! How does the skirt run, TTS or small? I’m thinking of trying it out myself.

Thank you! It runs TTS to a tad bit small – I took XS and it fits well but it definitely runs smaller than say, Gap or Old Navy.

I adore that pattern – and I love how you balance your looks so well. Even though you are showing a lot of leg, you balance it up top. You look wonderful!

Hi! I was wondering if the Alexander Wang skirt stretches out after wearing and washing? I have both the XS and the S and I’m not sure which one I should keep. Thanks so much!

[…] The Bright Scarf: I was really determined this year to add a big cozy colored scarf to my wardrobe – since I tend to gravitate so much towards neutrals in my shoes, bags and clothes, I really wanted to find a warm shawl that would help me add some color. I have always loved the Hermes GM shawls but they are too expensive for me to just buy them at every whim, so I’m very careful with purchasing. When I saw the Ex Libris Kimonos pattern come out and especially in this color way, I had to have it. It’s one of my favorites scarves in my wardrobe and I wear it all the time. Wearing it here. […]
