Another quick post for the weekend. I hope you’re all enjoying yours!
I recently bought this Diane Von Furstenberg Zarita dress and it has been one of my hands down favorite purchases so I wanted to share with all of you. It’s amazing and I’ve worn it twice so far and it always gets lots of compliments.

I wanted to specifically give this dress a lot of love because:
1.It’s really comfortable and stretchy, and runs quite true to size (sometimes I find DVF runs large and I can’t fit into even their smallest size). I took a 0 in this dress.
2. It comes in lots of flattering colors – blue, black, nude, cream and gray.
3. It looks good on a lot of different ages (I bought this at Saks and there was a woman in her 50s trying it on as well – we both bought it!). If you are self conscious about your arms, etc this really covers it up in a lovely way.
4. The zipper down the back is a great detail and adds a little “edge”. I just noticed that on me the bottom was unzipped a little, usually I wear it zipped down all the way.
5. The lace looks pretty and not “cheap” which is the biggest problem of a lot of lace dresses for me.
The only “flaw” with this dress is that it does cut pretty close to the figure, so it might call for some Spanx. However it is fully lined in a soft jersey which helps some (and plus makes it very soft and comfortable).

I actually have this dress too. I purchased it in 2010 when DVF first offered it in black only. I purchased the size 0 as well. I always have to tailor down even the smallest size dresses in DVF. I purchased it for a charity event I was hosting sort of last minute, but have gotten a lot of wear out of it. It's a good dinner date dress too;)
I love that she is now offering it in so many colors. Yours is so pretty. I've been meaning to photograph mine for the blog because I always question what shoes to wear. I have long legs so too high makes me self conscious about the shortness.

I had problems with lace dresses before because somehow it doesn't feel great on the skin. But this one is practical and if you worn it twice already, it gotta feel nice on! I tried on a few DVF things before and none of them look great on me unfortunately!

I could have broken out the spanx but decided to return…I really loved the color and the size zero length was perfect. You look amazing in it…I love it coupled with your nude YSL too! This dress can either be made a little more "edgy" with cooler sandals, etc, or made more "elegant" with closed toed pumps, etc. My favorite Louboutins are the Decolletes but truth be told they do take some time to break in (once they do, they are quite comfy). Another style you may like are the Ron Rons which are similar but have a more rounded toe, which are more comfy. One more is the Rolando which don't fit my feet well but fit others, and they have a hidden platform. I'd look into getting either black or nude patent. Try on all kinds of styles though and see what fits your feet best! 🙂

Do you know if this dress is a longstanding DVF standard, and do you think the gray color would come back next year? If not, I may go with black… Thanks!

January 3, 2013 at 8:50 pmHi Emily, I think the grey may be more of a winter color – it has come back in prior seasons but for now in spring I think there will be lighter colors. I’m not sure I would wait for it, I might take the black (or some of the new gorgeous spring colors!)
