Hello! I am so happy that some of you found my 5 Questionspost yesterday helpful, especially since I’ve been trying hard to stick to those rules myself. It’s been a challenge but I haven’t been too naughty this holiday sale season (well… we’ll see what the mailman brings). Yesterday I wore some boots that I bought last year which deserve to see sunlight more!
Sportmax trench (similar here and here)
J.Crew tunic (on sale here)
Free people slip (on sale here, similar here)
Jimmy Choo boots (in brown here, under $200 here!)
Hermes bag
For some reason I generally find wearing knee high boots fussy, ankle boots are much easier. These are really comfortable though and I find the tan suede material makes them less severe than a darker color. Are you all knee high boot fans, or do you prefer shorter lengths?

Beautiful red trench and the boots look perfect with it! I am a knee high boot girl all the way!
Heather
Love the red trench, but your BOOTS are something else!!!!!!♥really great♥
Love love love the boots!!! You should wear them more. They make you look tall and sexy
Do you find these fit true to size? Some JC shoes run smaller and it's difficult to order them on line without trying on.
Gorgeous boots!
♥
Red + Camel = Match made in heaven. I generally find that Jimmy Choo shoes are very uncomfortable…I'm really picky when it comes to my feet.

I love the look of a trench coat, and the red is a nice bright color for winter! Minnesota is a constant state of grey right now!
Love this look…that red coat looks gorgeous with the white/cream and camel

Love the boots…they are very flattering. I find knee high boots easier to wear. Your slip is so pretty.
I love those boots! They're just gorgeous and definitely deserve a lot of sunlight. I enjoy tall boots for the added warmth but I like the ease of booties. Tall boots never seem to be the right height on me but I think that's just something I'm a bit fussy about.
Katherine, those boots are so sharp girl! Love the color and how they zip up the back. Your coat is awesome too.

I am in LOOOOVE with those boots! You need to wear them more often! I prefer knee high boots. I find ankle boots always hurt me after awhile at – well the ankle LOL!
I used to be a HUGE fan of ankle-length boots, but I've realized since I have short legs, these visually cut me off and make my legs look even stumpier. So now I'm all about knee-length and OTH boots. The ones you're wearing, by the way, are SUPER cute!
You have the best trenches my dear and I love the color combination of your outfit! I have these great camel suede boots at my parents house that I still haven't worn (sigh I miss my cold weather clothing).

You should definitely bust those adorable boots out more! I used to only wear knee-high, but now I mainly stick to ankles ones- you're right, they're easier, and just so darn cute! I will bust out my knee high ones every once in a while though.

I like both knee high and ankle boots…but it's so much harder finding a pair of knee high boots that are just the right height. I love the tan color!
what a gorgeous coat!
Love the color! I prefer knee high boots and actually I'm trying to find over the knee boots now. Really loving the Stuart Weitzman 50/50 boots.
I love how the trench pleats and the free people slip peekaboo around the hem of the trench is so mysterious. I do like knee high boots more than ankle boots. I like how it fits around my calves. While ankle boots look too loose around my ankles. It doesn't stop me from wearing ankle booties anyway. Just a little nitpickiness.
@KiraThanks Kira! They run pretty true to size, (usually I take one up in JC) but if you're getting the leather version I might take one size larger – these are suede and have a bit more stretch to them. Hope that helps!
AMAZING look! so simple, elegant, and chic! the boots are gorgeous

I agree- those boots have a beautiful colour to them.
Gorgeous boots!

Love those Boots! Im a boots fan.. ankle, mid, tall, OTK everything
But ankle length dosent look good on me. I love these on you!
Ah, so cute outfit! So savvy and chic. I guess it's a toss up for me for low/high boots. Depends on my mood…and the outfit I'm wearing. heh.
Great boots!! You always have the cutest outfits!! Love your style
Happy Holidays!

I love your trench! been looking for a red one. As for boots – I like both but it's hard to find knee high ones for me because I have chunkier calves lol.

I feel like I look better in longer boots. But over the knee style does not suit me. I love ankle black boots. I have 4 pairs. I love those beige ones. I wish I could wear boots without tights or jeans, but it's too cold right now.
That tunic is so simple but soo pretty! I love it, and I bet you can do so much with it.

Came across your blog through Twitter and love your style
Love those boots! In general I prefer tall ones, but I've been known to be unable to resist a cute pair of ankle boots.

I prefer tall boots because ankle boots cut off my legs at an awkward place (at least that's how it seems to me). I own one pair of ankle boots by Emilio Pucci but they're more like covered pumps than ankle boots so I can (happily) live with them. That said I really like your boots. I actually lusted over these (in brown leather) in high school but had my mom knock some sense into me when she asked how I'd use them. No answer = no boots. I'd love to get them at a later point though (because you can't go wrong with Jimmy Choo).
You make me want a red coat!
So pretty!! Not sure which I love more– the coat or the boots! Too cute together
I love that look! And those boots— is going on my xmas list! They look so comfortable! =)
I also wondered, are those sunnies painted on or you were really wearing them? lol silly question I know but I am really curious! lol
Great and modern ideas!

I love the red + suede. Very rich look with the textures. xo
Those boots are to die for!!!
@Kiwi's Fashion Blog lol! My photoshop skills are not nearly that great, I am wearing my sunglasses
I really really love these boots! Totally cute!
I also love your new blog layout… I've been on a mini-hiatus for a few weeks, so forgive me if I'm a little late on this!
omgosh i love this!! the white lace peeking from the white slip is GORGEOUS! those boots are so gorgeous on you kat you have GORGEOUS LEGS!!!
Your outfit is wonderful! The boots are gorgeous. I adore knee boots – live in them during the Winter, I find them so easy because I don't even have to worry about my tights underneath since there's pretty much a minimal gap between my dress/skirt and the top of the boots whereas with ankle boot I have to think about the colours and proportion of the whole outfit.
My pleasure, Kat! Just ask away if you have further questions about Hermes shawls. I allow myself a new shawl per year so that I don't get too carried away (an easy thing to do).

I'm definitely a fan of knee high boots. I wear them every day. I don't have many ankle boots, cause I always find it more difficult to wear them, plus I think that they're not so flattering on me.
I love your boots and you should definitely start wearing them more often cause they look great on you! The trench coat is also fantastic.
thanks for finding my site via the t+j design challenge. LOVE YOUR BLOG!!!
The boots are to die for. Fits your calf so nicely. Drool.
You are looking better and better with each post! The hair, the make-up, the clothes…you are just glowing. Does your husband and friends see the change in you too? A complete 180 compared to when you first started posting. How is that possible?! love <3<3<3
@Susan omg Susan this was such a sweet comment! Seeing yourself in photographs with limp hair and an outfit that doesn't look nearly as good as you thought it did in the mirror definitely forces you to try to improve…lol! I'm glad you think that there has been some improvement! Thank you for being such a kind and and thoughtful reader! <3
The boots look great. I love boots of all kinds, but ankle and knee lengths work best on me.
Urgh, those boots are gorge! I have them in brown suede but now on the obsessive hunt to find them in tan! It's hard to find boots for thin calves and these are perfect!!
:: mommy chic ::
WHOA – those boots are killer! I need some camel or taupe boots, so I wish I could steal those righ toff your feet!
Is this Birkin gold?
Yup it is!
