Yeah, Friday! I wanted to share with you a bag I just got that’s been on my list for a while, a Chanel reissue.
Gap sweater (similar here, here)
BDG jeans (I have 3 pairs of these!)
Louboutin shoes (one of my most worn shoes – here)
Chanel bag – 227 size
Hermes bracelet
I love the reissue because it’s a nice alterative to the classic Chanel CCs, and the leather is hardier than the super soft lambskin that Chanel also uses. However my husband disagreed somewhat – he clearly isn’t on board with the distressed, vintage look:
Me: “Look at my new bag! YAY.”
Mr. Feather: “But if it’s new, why does it look so old.”
Hmph.
I really wanted a gray bag with cool toned hardware because I wear a ton of grays and blacks – I included the photo of the reissue against my Etoupe Birkin so you could see how “cool” this color was versus the warmer taupe. I love wearing all grays/blacks with just a splash of bright color, I’d love to get something bright orange later to go with this bag too. Any suggestions?

I always feel like white does the trick. I could see orange too. I've always like that one too. It's more modern with the distressed look.

So gorgeous. I also love to wear lots of blacks & grays and add a pop of color. I used to have the matte black and the dark silver 226 Reissues but sold them because I didn't think I could rock them like you do. Now you make me want to get a black one again.

It's beautiful Katherine! Such a gorgeous color. I love gray as well. And I'm always a sucker for silver hardware on Chanels. Gold is classic of course, but I think silver just looks so sharp.

I just got a reissue as well too and am in love with the distressed look as well! I love the grey color you got–looks fabulous! I was drawn to the chain strap on the reissue too because it was just a little bit different from the classic flap styles.

This bag is lovely! Can I ask you what the color is(does it have a code?)? I’m actually debating between this and the black reissue in GHW. I really like the grey and I’ve heard there are many kinds of grey. How did you decide on that particular one? Any thoughts on other shades? (e.g. anniversary grey, dark grey etc). I don’t have a chanel near where I live so it is very hard to have a look at it in person before I buy one. I’m very petite so I will probably go with 225 or 226 sizewise. Thank you in advance.

Only second hand – it was from 2005
But there are lots of beautiful grays that are produced usually each season and second hand is also a good place to look. Enjoy your bag!
