Style Wardrobe Recap

Wardrobe: Sarah-Linh Tran

There is a woman I’ve recently become obsessed with, in terms of style. Like really obsessed! Sarah Linh Tran, who co designs Lemaire with her partner Christophe Lemaire.

First of all, I love Lemaire. Do you? I loved his work at Hermes and I love his individual line but because I am not a zillionaire what I love best is his work for Uniqlo since I can actually buy it and quite a lot of it. But it’s only recently that I learned that it’s not his work but rather their work because he designs with his partner, Sarah Linh Tran. I first came across her photo while looking at Lemaire runway photos and I instantly paused because I was like who is that? I like her outfit!

To me there’s just something wonderfully accessible about Tran – she’s kind of got that Phoebe Philo Celine flair but also mixed in with it is that put together office look that I see a lot and admire on women on the street in South Korea and Japan. Like that look you could get away with in the most conservative office that still has that bit of interest, something unusual. You know?

Of course, her more casual/weekend looks are also excellent. I also like that she rewears pieces (obviously, because she is not a glamazon robot), and that she loves a crossbody bag because that’s pretty much all I wear these days.

Some more favorites.

What’s especially interesting to me about Tran is kind of how off the radar she is. Like, in today’s world I almost feel like somebody who is so stylish is such for public consumption, do you know what I mean? Like almost that there is no point in being so chic if nobody is going to photograph you all the time, and in fact I was looking for her Instagram account, her blog, anything, and there was nothing, and I thought what a waste! Why get dressed so well if a random stranger on the internet can’t creep on you? But then I realized how creepy itself that thought is… how far away we have come, although it’s not as if socialites weren’t getting dressed up just to get attention pre-Instagram…anyway, I’m rambling. I guess the point is to be chic for yourself to enjoy fashion on others and in that Sarah Linh Tran is my current obsession. All hail Sarah!

I know about Lemaire, not about Sarah. Happy to meet her via Feather Factor. Thank you very much! She appears classic & timeless, appealing to every age group. The essence of understatement

Great post! I love her aura. What I immediately notice is that although she is slim, the clothes don’t wear her. The garments are more like her habitat, for her comfort and ease, rather than being worn to display something or be eye-catching. I also appreciate that in Asia, loose pants for women are not so much a trend but a classic silhouette.

I just checked out their website. It made me want to move to a city. That’s always my reaction when I see styles I love but that wouldn’t work for my real lifestyle. Plus, they have some great bags….and those I could make work anywhere.
