Spring Shoes: Miu Miu and Stuart Weitzman

For the last month or so I’ve been feeling particularly smug because I’ve managed to prevent myself from falling into any of the major pre-sale madness going on – only to find myself purchasing two pairs of shoes in the same amount of days last week. Oy! But these were both pairs that qualified under my “emergency sale purchase” plan and yes, I actually do have an ING Savings account labeled that. Anyway, here they are!

On the left: Stuart Weitzman sandals (sold here, here, here)
On the right: Miu Miu gingham heels (sold here, here, here)

I’d been watching the Stuart Weitzmans for a while and thought they’d be a great casual, nude sandal. I love my YSL Tributes but sometimes they are too high for certain occasions and I also have a fear of walking down steep hills in them.

The Weitzmans have a subtle platform and are incredibly comfortable. They are partially cork (but all leather lined) which makes them quite light. I do believe that Stuart Weitzman is sometimes underrated though his new line may change that.

My next pair are not nearly as practical but cute enough that I couldn’t resist. I love gingham!  Plus these shoes were actually really comfortable for the height, I usually have bad luck with pointier heels. Please excuse my veiny feet, standing for a while in front of the self timer trying to take a photo in various flamingo-like stances can do that to you!

One more shot of shoe details just because I love them…

Miu Miu gingham heels (sold hereherehere)  Stuart Weitzman sandals (sold hereherehere)

Here are the links again to the shoes above – the Stuart Weitzmans have random sizes in stock and the Miu Mius are largely sold out, but sizes do sporadically appear.

Over the years I’ve tried to become better and better at sale shopping and now try to only buy items that I’d be willing to pay full price for – but isn’t that kind of a weird logic? Why didn’t I just buy them full price then? Anyway, while I’m mulling that over…I’d love to hear – have any of you indulged in any spring sale scores? If not, I to hear so too, I need some examples of good behavior!

Love the Weitzman pair! It is wise that you actually have a specific account for emergency shopping 🙂 I do have a small pot on a the side for shopping but for emergency shopping, that’s brilliant! Learnt something everytime from you 🙂

My latest post here if you have some time 🙂

Having an emergency sales account is such a genius thing to do! I’ve managed to stay away from sales so far, but my will power is crumbling a little more each day!

I LOVE both shoes! You can never have too many nude/tan styles plus a gorgeous pair with bows – I’ve been looking for some by Valentino or Prada like your gingham ones. I haven’t splurged at all in the sales. My plan of making a general list is working for now – even Net a Porter had nothing to tempt me. I took a long time to complie the list so if something’s not on there, I don’t need it whether full price or sale.

I always tell myself I’ll wait untill half way the sales to get a really good discount, but I always end up buying everything during the first week because I’m afraid it will be sold out. ( usually it never is )

But I think these shoes were worth “sinning” for, i love them both. The SW ones because they are quite classic and the Miu Miu ones because they really stand out

Those Miu Miu’s are so cute! I’ve only ever seen them in real life as a kitten heel which just didn’t float my boat. But these are pretty much perfect. Good score!

I don’t think that’s weird at all; I do my best to stalk an item I’d purchase at full price. I know it’s probably going to get marked down eventually. Why pay full price when you could get it for less?

I love your new purchases. The gingham ones are too cute! And I like the idea of an emergency sales account; it’s a good way to account for unexpected expenses. 🙂

I’m so jealous! I loved them both but especially the Miu miu ones!!! They stole my heart from the moment I saw them! And those YSL Tributes you have, have been on my wishlist for a long time.
Don’t worry about the veins on your feet…I actually like veiny feet…hehe You should see mine during summer when the temperatures in Greece are extremely high.

Love those wee Miu Mius. I’m doing my best to resist all the sales. Being winter here in NZ, its hard to get into the mindset to buy summer clothes. But it would help as I can wear them in a few months. But I’m being good I want the new MacBook Pro! Morning Katherine

We’re shoe twins!! I had been stalking those gingham ones for months!! Finally when they went on sale, I ended up getting not one pair, but two in different colors! I tend to do that when I really love a shoe. Enjoy them!

    Cheers~

Those Miu Miu heels are so cute! Love the gingham and little bow in the back 🙂 My splurge was a white Pour La Victoire satchel (http://stylizedluxe.blogspot.com/2012/06/fabulous-pink.html). So gorgeous, but also way out of my budget! Otherwise, I’m a great bargain shopper.

Love your shoes! I have been looking all over for a pair of neutral strappy heels. The Miu Miu heels are so cute!

I tend to wait for a sale on shoes. I do not like to pay full price for shoes. I think it’s because I know I already have shoes I wear over and over again. Mulling over it and delaying the purchase gives me time to actually contemplate if I can live with or without that pair.

I think it is awesome that you set up a seperate “emergency sale shopping” account exclusively for this purpose. Wish we had extra money left for shopping but unfortunately we spent lots of money on travel this year. I also have many fifferent accounts for specific things, they make things easier to manage money .

Love those Miu Miu gingham heels, always think they are super flirty and beyond adorable. I like the red but they are very practical for me.

How cute are the gingham Miu Mius?! I have stuck by my list (nude pumps, lower black sandals, a bright pair of shoes, etc.) so I’m only getting something that is on my list. But my Nordstrom’s SA is ridiculous and has been an enabler!

You’re absolutely right, Kat. I often think that Stuart Weitzman shoes are completely under-rated. Most tend to prefer Louboutin but I think SW shoes are far more comfortable.

I love those Miu Mius. I didn’t think much of them at first but once I saw photos of people wearing them I thought they were beyond adorable. Blue is definitely better than the red, which are too picnic table like. Too bad they’re all sold out in my size 🙁

Katherine, you had me at “emergency sale purchase” fund. 😉

Love these shoes (particularly the SW pair because I generally don’t purchase shoes that I have a hard time matching)!

Do not turn to my blog if you need an example of good behavior. I’ve been positively naughty in that regard since spring came and it’s now summer and my shopping hasn’t gotten better. My latest post is a testament to that. 🙂
