The Globe-Trotter

I love travel, and over the years I’ve had a little obsession over finding the perfect luggage. I’ve tried a lot of brands and have different types of all kinds of travel occasions, but it’s always been a dream that one day I would have a tower of Globe-Trotter luggage, in all sorts of different color and hardware combinations. I received my second piece of Globe-Trotter this week and so thought it’d be a good time to share with you my little collection. Also for those of you new to the brand I’d highly recommend you check out the Globe-Trotter site where you can also view a very cool video showing how these trolleys are hand made.

I bought my new red Centenary model from the very kind Nick of Bespoke England. Bespoke ships VAT free around the world and they have the best customer service ever – Nick was kind enough to order me this model made directly from the Globe-Trotter factory as they didn’t have it in stock. I would highly recommend Bespoke and especially Nick – you can tell him hello from me!

My new Centenary is the 21” size which is good for carry on on most airlines – you can see it here with it’s big sister, the 30” suitcase. This was a special edition, from a first glance you can see that there are red flowers lining the case..

And if you take a closer look, the flowers are made out of mary jane heels! How sweet is that?

A close up of the shiny hardware on the locks.

And finally, my little Globe-Trotter collection. I can’t wait to use them while traveling and beat them up a bit! I hope to have a full tower one day.

These are beautiful! I too hope to have a tower of well loved (and slightly beaten up) luggage, though the brand is the least of my worries. I want travel 🙂 Did you know that J. Crew carries them in two different sizes? Here's one: http://www.jcrew.com/womens_feature/JCrewingoodcompany/movedtoshopbycategory/globetrotter/PRDOVR~99431/99431.jsp?TCode=GGBS00002)

Love the cool floral heels lining. What a lovely luggage set you have. It has a old English of the late 1800s, early 1900s look to it. So different from the modern luggage nowadays.

I love the old-school vibe to them. And, I also like that they are modern in that they have wheels. They are beautiful, and you won't see a sea of them at the airport.

These are gorgeous! I've been thinking of getting a set myself.. but I've heard they are heavy – do you think the weight is bearable? And most importantly – can we custom make them with four wheels? I am such sucker for easy-wheelies and can't fathom having to carry any luggage, chic as these may be!

Did you see the JCrew for Globe Trotter one? It's a great bright yellow but I couldn't believe they were marking *up* the price. It almost feels like Coach personalizing a LV speedy and pricing it higher than a classic speedy. I love yours though, they're classic and gorgeous 🙂

Those are so, so lovely…inside and out! Beautiful luggage just brightens up the journey. As someone who's been dragging around a battered black thing on wheels that was actually a freebie from a credit card rewards promo, I'm inspired to find something more elegant. 🙂 I like that they don't look too big, either…I've been holding on to my battered suitcase because it's fairly small and I can't seem to find decent ones in a similar size.

They're so exquisitely crafted! I'd like to know, however, if they're very heavy. I got a boring but very practical/functional Briggs & Riley 20" for int'l travels but am also considering another 21" Rimowa.

Hey, I’m in the process of ordering one and would like to know whether you customized the strap color. The other pictures that I saw online showed a lighter color for the straps. But maybe it’s just the lighting of your photo? Thanks!
