Doubles

I’ve recently picked up a few things I’ve been enthusiastic about. So enthusiastic in fact, that I’ve purchased doubles! I’ve really been trying to stay away from multiple items because I have recognized that it’s a bad habit of mine – I find an item I LOVE, then decide immediately that I may not find anything so good ever again, and immediately want to rush out and buy another one, right away. I don’t know why I do this – I guess maybe because I’m quite often disappointed when I online shop, so when something works out really well, I’m just ecstatic. But I had to stop doing this because it was wasteful and a lot of the time, I would get sick of the item. So now I make sure that I’ve already used the item quite a bit before even thinking about getting another – I ask myself do I really, really need it, and then if I do, also try to get another color. This has cut out quite a few things. Here are some that made the edit!

Everlane Day Heel Mule. I know I mention these a lot and that’s because I really love them and they are just the perfect shoe especially for cropped trousers. And they are so comfortable. I was wearing my black suede tons so I finally caved and got the camel leather. And they are on sale! I took my true size in these, 6.5. I wear these a lot with both skirts, cropped pants, and leggings.

Uniqlo Merino Knitted Shirt. I have been looking for this style of a sweater/shirt for ages and finally found one last year from Altuzarra, but it was $$ and my size sold out immediately and never came back during sale season. So imagine my happiness when I found it at Uniqlo! I paid full price but it’s on sale for nearly half off now. I do advise sizing up. I’m wearing both the mules and the shirt in the photo below.  The shirt is a small and it’s still quite fitted – if you want to wear open as a cardigan you could go one or even two sizes larger. I bought both black and cream.

J.Crew sweater blazer: Bought this first in camel, and later on added black. Just so versatile and easy. The black is shoved in the back of my car so that I can throw it on whenever. The one I linked is the new version, which has some gorgeous colors (I really, really want the green) but be aware that the ones I purchased were 100% merino, which you can find here in dwindling sizes and colors. I really wish J.Crew had used merino for the new version but I still can’t find a closer competitor at the price point and style/quality. And, it’s 30% off right now. Also, if you want to see it on, you can see the first photo of this post.

PS: I first did a version of this post six years ago. Six!! Crazy.

Crazy because I recalled what you recommended in the first doubles post 6 years ago!

I’m a double nut too. The doubles that I have…Louis Vuitton Emilie wallets, Louis Vuitton Empreinte Cles, Ferragamo Marie sandals, Ferragamo Gloria sandals, Chanel Wallet on Chain, Hermes Charniere bracelet (make it multiples), clothings – always looking for multiples, sometimes the same colour. After reading my own list, which there are more….I definitely need help! SOS…

I buy doubles a lot more than I probably should! I tend to like a uniform though. I actually will also buy the same exact version of something I really love – even years later. I did this with a Missoni tunic and also with a cotton Hermes scarf that I have loved for many years. Both were getting pretty worn-in so I searched a resale site and didn’t hesitate to buy them again. Sometimes I feel like I should be more creative or adventurous, but I also like what I like 🙂
