Today I thought I would share some of the favorite pieces I purchased this year. When I was putting together this post I actually realized I had a pretty long list… then I realized a lot of the items were from 2016. Yes, I really didn’t do that much shopping this year but maybe that will change as the kids get bigger and I have more free time. Here are some of my favorites (and please share with me yours!):
Simon Miller Birch bag – I love this little bag! The green makes me smile and it’s the perfect pop of color against a neutral palette. It’s probably more spring/summer but I feel perfectly fine using it all year round due to the black handles. And it’s less than the tax of an Hermes bag (though this justification rings hollow given the item below). The green looks great against black, grays, whites, navys…a surprisingly versatile color.
Gap long sleeve v neck tees – I have been looking for a great long sleeve tee forever and these are it. The perfect deep-v, a great soft material, a ton of colors and sizes…there’s a reason why whenever I look to stock up on more they are often sold out. I’m so happy I found these (and please inform me if you have your own favorite long sleeved t-shirts).
J.Crew camouflage jacket – A great jacket I’ve gotten way more use out of than I thought. Fits over everything, adds that perfect extra layer, and a great camo print. I’ve worn this a ton already. I’m not even mad that I paid full price and now it’s on sale.
Hermes Constance bag – I wanted this bag for so long and every time I use it I still feel happy. Except, of course, that I barely use it because I have children. Oh well. Just being honest…
And one each from beauty and skincare:
NARS Pure Radiance Tinted Moisturizer – my new favorite! Great color match, has SPF, doesn’t break me out, super easy to apply. A discovery that has made its way into my everyday makeup routine (aka the days that I actually wear makeup).
Kiehls Midnight Recovery Concentrate – I have a thing for face oils and this was (oldie, but new to me) was my favorite discovery this year. My skin is so dry this winter and I have been slathering on moisturizer upon moisturizer and the only thing that lets my face still feel soft in the morning is adding this oil to my creams. Bonus: I like it more than Sunday Riley’s, which is more expensive too.
What were some of your favorites from the year?
