Weekend Update

1. This week, sharing this classic little Prada pouch (at a nice price point).

This is supposed to be a cosmetics pouch, but I like the little wristlet addition which makes it quite versatile as a little hold all and even clutch, in a pinch. This is totally the sort of bag I’d pack on vacation – it could hold a few items in a larger tote, and then easily be used for night. It’s super light, and takes up basically no space. A nice buy!

2. A piece from the NY Times (by Vanessa Friedman, excellent as always), about the evolution of NYFW. Do you care about fashion week?

3. Did you watch Gossip Girl? I think you did. I definitely did (though like with most TV shows, I never watched the final season). This Vanity Fair piece was more interesting than I thought – a ten year anniversary retrospective. I wish there was a show on now that had similar fashion eye candy!

4. A fascinating article about Spencer Pratt (remember him?),  via The New Yorker. I have to admit, I followed him on Instagram after reading this.

5. This week I finished Our Souls at Night, by Kent Haruf.

Haruf is one of my favorite authors, so it was only a matter of time before I read Souls, which was published after he passed away. The book is short, and deceptively simple – the story of two senior aged neighbors who begin to sleep (like really, sleep) next to each other at night. But it leaves a deep impression. Highly recommended, and again, a short read for those of you who have complained that I recommend too many door stoppers!

God morning – i can’t believe it’s been 10 years since GG came out, I definitely watched it on Netflix and left the final season unwatched as i didn’t want it to end. I know I’m pathetic ( same with Gilmore GIrls, btw). I keep running into Jessica Szohr at my lunch time in Hollywood so I’m always reminded that there is one season left:) Thanks, as always, for a book recommendation. I still dont understand how you manage to read a book a week, all i’m able to do is 30 pages of the simpliest text a day if i’m lucky. I hope everyone is behaving! Have a good weekend.

I used to love Fashion Week. Now, I’m sad to say it seems overrun with “influencers” or maybe this is just what my Instagram feed feels like? Anywho, I feel like a touch of the glamour is lost. Then again, I haven’t gone so who am I to say?

If you’re looking for a show with a solid fashion eye candy (and similar intrigue/fun nyc moments/ occasional eye rolls) you MUST start watching Younger, in its third season, and also a new show that just wrapped end of its first season, the Bold Type, set at a cosmo-esque magazine with some real eye roller moments but if you loved GG and esp the fashion and girl empowerment, you’ll love it. It was executive produced with joanna coles i think so has some cleverness to it! Also sutton foster and hillary duff on younger are just…..TDF. costumes alone.!!

I’ve heard great things about both these shows…your comments might be what push me over the edge. Thank you!
