The Rocket Dogs

Today I’m sharing a pair of shoes that I love so much, that my husband HATES. Loathes! But I won’t ever give them up.

These excellent pair of Rocket Dogs.

Did you have a pair of these in the 90’s? I did, even though I was far from cool! They were just so comfortable and paired so nicely with whatever it was that I wore them with from Wet Seal (RIP). I was reminded of them after I saw this photo of Gal Gadot wearing a pair with her gown (yeah, cause I’m just like Gal).

Isn’t that genius? Imagine how comfortable she was. I think she actually was wearing these because of a foot injury, but still!

So I bought myself a pair, to wear with maxi dresses. So good! And the height! Tall plus comfort! Unbeatable.

So my husband will just have to suffer.

By the way – there is a Rocket Dog collaboration with Elizabeth Saltzman (the super stylist) available on Matches as well. But I just got the classics – they’re way less expensive too. $30 for all day comfort.

PS: There’s also a higher pair, but I read conflicting reviews on their stability.

I had a beach wedding and wore a pair of Rocket Dogs (in white) to walk down the aisle. I would sink into the sand wearing high heels. These flip flops are a god send and no one was able to tell =)

Haha, this made me laugh. I love Rocket Dogs (my cousin in the UK always asks me to buy them for her). They are so comfy! I had no idea they came in a flatform style too.

Noooooo Katherine! Hahaa I wanted a pair back in the day but my mom (they’re always right) put her foot down and said no way. Although I did have one of those ultra high Steve Madden platform slides… ha!

Love it! I have a pair of Steve Madden slinky sandals to bring me back to the 90s and flip flops similar to your Rocket Dogs. And I don’t care! I love them!

Also trying to calculate the likelihood that I can pull off the Elizabeth Saltzman/Rocket Dog rainblow platform flip sandals. Not likely at all probably!

To be honest, I hate those shoes too, but great on you for not throwing them out just because your husband hates them 😛

Be careful with platform slippers: I turned my ankle wearing one and instead of a simple ankle sprain, I broke a bone (5th metatarsal).

I’m with Mr Feather on this. And with TC, having fallen off a pair of wedges recently and broken three metatarsals.

Oh dear…good for you since you love them. BUT…I would never wear a pair of platforms like that – way too unstable. I think they are asking for trouble!

I’m cringing and laughing at the same time. They are SOOO ugly but oh man, I almost feel like I need to buy a pair too because these make me so nostalgic for my high school days!

This post brought old college memories — I loved them so much, but unfortunately I fell flat on my face twice — once near the Campanile where the force of falling and hitting the brick walkway ripped my jeans at the knee area and another time crossing the street on Telegraph and Bancroft.

I loved my Rocket Dogs in the 90s and yep, my husband hates them too. I abandoned flatforms after they were banned in two relationships in a row….but those rainbow ones tempt me for their sheer terrible fabulousness!

Oh, and I have one of those Minkoff straps on my gold Kelly, they work well with a Kelly retourné.
