Recent Purchases – Zimmermann, Peplum Jacket, Sandals

This week I wanted to share some of my favorite recent purchases – I hope this helps any of you who were considering these items!

1. Cole Haan Anica sandals. I love these sandals so much that I am risking nasty comments about my pregnancy cankles so I can show you.I received quite a few questions about these sandals, so I hope this is helpful. In short: they are everything I would want from a flat sandal. So comfortable, walkable and I love the design.

I love this sort of Grecian look to flat sandals, but when sandals are super duper flat with no padding, they do cause me some pain after walking for a while. These have a super nice and cushioned footbed, a leather sole, and the leather straps are soft and do not pinch. I’m normally a 6.5 but because these are summer shoes and the foot tends to expand, I went with the 37 size, and was happy I sized up.

2. Zimmermann dress. I first saw this dress on the gorgeous Rei, and had to order it, even though I won’t be able to fit in it for months (or ever again….). I’ve purchased two items I’ve seen on her so far in the last few months so she has been quite expensive for me…but I love it. I love floaty white dresses, they are one of my weaknesses, and when I see a good one I have to snap it up. If you love this but have more patience, I might wait for sale, as all sizes are still in stock.

3. Scripted military peplum jacket. I bought this jacket from the Saks F&F sale (still going on for a few more days) and I was very happy with it. I really recommend you look at photos of it on the model so you can see how it looks on – it’s pretty accurate. I rarely pay anything close to full price for contemporary brands (and to me 25% off is somewhat close to full) but I know this jacket is the sort of item I’d get a ton of wear out of. The material is a very soft cotton with a bit of a felted feel.

I did take an X-Small and have to exchange up for a small – it was too tight for me otherwise, even in just a t-shirt. Since I plan to wear it with sweaters, I definitely knew I needed the larger size. If you have narrow shoulders, you could stick with your normal size, otherwise I’d suggest sizing up.

What have been some of your recent favorite purchases? I always love hearing what you’ve purchased and been enjoying (and get ideas from these comments too!).

Sandals are cute and reasonable! But that dress…it took my breath away!

I have the dress in my cart. I need your advice. What do i wear under it? What flat shoes can I wear?
I am 5’10” and will have to wear a silky long pants on the bottom. I am worried about the see through top.
Please help as I love it so much.

Flat sandals would be perfect…I’m actually planning on wearing the ones I linked. Any flat Grecian sandal will do.

The great part of this dress is it isn’t see through at the top…you see a nude underlay in my photo? It’s on the front too, as well as the back, and goes down to below the waist, so a lot of bras would actually work with the dress. If you are 5’10, you might have to wear long pants like you say.

Just wanted to let you know there’s a Bally trunk show on Moda Operandi right now! There’s quite a few options for those loafers you posted about a while ago 🙂

The dress is gorgeous! did you go with size 0 or 1? Also for the nude sandals, is that nude color or sahara? Nordstrom doesn’t seem to carry nude or perhaps it sold out.

Size 0…and it is the nude, but Nordstrom looks to be sold out of a lot of sizes right now.

Love the sandals! I’ve ordered two new pair of glitter Birkenstocks (yay Amazon) and I have my eye on the Hermes H slides for a dressier look. Do you wear Hermes sandals/shoes? They are the one Hermes item I don’t collect!
