Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2016 – My Selections

I wasn’t going to do a dedicated Nordstrom Anniversary Sale post this year since there are quite a few out there already. However I received a few requests and plus I’ve been doing more shopping than I initially thought I would with this sale…whoops! Here are some of my selections (and if you’re looking for my weekend update, it’s right below!)

Handbags (left to right)

Longchamp Le Pliage expandable nylon tote, $130/$195 after sale: These always sell out during the Anniversary sales. The classic Longchamp Le Pliage totes in an expandable format – if you don’t already have one of these, a good opportunity to try them out. Note – you can also find baby blue, black, and light gray here.

Frye Melissa crossbody saddle bag, $250, $380 after sale: This isn’t normally the style of bag I gravitate to, but I really like this Frye bag. If there’s any brand that can make a fantastic leather saddle bag, it’s Frye. This saddle bag looks to be comfortable, extremely useful, and made out of high quality leather.

Longchamp Le Pliage cuir leather tote, $355/$530 after sale: Nordstrom usually has this tote each year, and I always recommended it as I think it’s one of the best leather totes out there. It hits the functionality, style, and value (especially at this price) nexus right on.

Shoes (left to right)

Cole Haan over the knee boots, $330/$500 after sale: I’ve tried these on and they’re a great fit for shorter legs (like the ones on yours truly). The price is much more reasonable compared to Stuart Weitzman and I found the quality the same. Considering jumping on these this year.

La Canadienne waterproof boot, $300/$450 after sale: A pair of flat waterproof black boots is a must in almost every wardrobe in my opinion. I’ve always had great experiences with La Canadienne and you can wear these in the rain and snow.

Joie criss cross block heeled sandal, $195/$300 after sale: I have eyed the full price version of these sandals many a time. I love block heels because I find the more comfortable, and the straps on these help add to the comfort factor (while being cute). I like the lower criss cross on the front instead of an ankle strap – helps lengthen the leg.

Loungewear (left to right)

Barefoot Dreams circle cardigan, $77/$117 after sale: I love my other Barefoot Dreams items..I’m a junkie and have worn my existing items close to pieces. This one looks just as good and I’ll have another option for cozy loungewear in the house during winter. Yeah!

Zella leggings, $34/$50 after sale: I buy a pair of these every year. Only time they go on sale. My favorite black leggings. I buy the full length ones and ask my mom to shorten them (thanks, mommy!).

Barefoot Dreams robe, $66/$99 after sale: Perhaps this tells you more than it should about the current state of my wardrobe, but this robe is the #1 item on my list for Anniversary. It looks so cozy and the price is really great, especially for Barefoot Dreams. I kind of want to get multiples…!

Dresses (left to right)

Milly gradient flare dress, $263/$400 after sale: I love this dress! It’s super up my alley – the cut, the material, the gradient stripes that make you look skinniest at your waist. I also like this navy mixed stitch dress, also on anniversary – very Alaia.

James Perse cutout midi dress, $157/$235 after sale: I am a big fan of James Perse – I think its one of those underrated brands that’s been around for a long time, and can always be counted on for quality.

Alexander Wang sleeveless draped dress, $400/$700 after discount: I mentioned earlier already that I love everything about this dress. The cut is perfection, and it’s still appropriate enough for a work party. I don’t love everything from A Wang but I do love this dress.

Outerwear + Tops (left to right)

Sea lace detailed top, $217/$325 after sale: I love Sea! I’m so glad Nordstrom has started carrying this brand. I love almost everything they make, and this top is no exception. Beautiful and feminine.

BP cargo anorak jacket, $45/$68 after sale: I love these types of jackets and this one is a great option that is at an even better price point. This one looks slouchy, soft, and very comfortable.

BLANKNYC Suede Moto Jacket, $125/$188 after discount: A great fall jacket – I love the suede, the cut, and the price is great too. There’s also a vegan black leather version available, priced at $65 for anniversary.

Beauty + Fragrance (left to right)

Stila eyeliner/lipgloss set, $20/$34 value: Stila eyeliner is my go to eyeliner. I’ve tried every other brand including a bunch of Korean/Japanese ones, and I always go back to this one. This set is basically like getting the lipgloss – which is a great neutral color – for free.

Diptyque scented candle set, $55/$75 value: I buy one of the Diptyque sets (at least) every year for myself, and more as gifts. The ones that Nordstrom does for Anniversary are awesome because they have all the “greatest hit” scents that everyone loves…because they’re awesome. I’ll use these small sizes by my bed and all around the house.

NARS Survival kit, $59/$116 value: Like with Diptyque, I buy a NARS set basically every year. Time and time again I go back to my favorite NARS products, and especially the palettes. This “Survival Kit 1” has some of the brand’s best colors in the palette, and comes with a lovely lip color and mascara to boot.

Accessories + Home (left to right)

Nordstrom Varsity zip pouch, $16/$24 after sale: I love pouches and these initial ones are so adorable, and inexpensive to boot. I’m a pouch fiend and the combo of cute and well priced is actually rare. I’ve ordered the “K” of course!

Large lingerie wash bag, $8/$12 after sale: OK not the most exciting item, but I use this every week and just bought another. A great price for a laundry staple.

Giraffe at Home Throw, $118/$178 after sale: We have a miniature version of one of these throws for baby Feather, and it’s soo soft and lovely. I’ve seen these full sized versions and they are just as cuddly, but for adults! The perfect soft blanket to cuddle up in.
Please share some of your favorites from the Anniversary Sale as well – there are literally thousands of items, so I’m sure I’ve missed some great pieces!

Do you happen to know what happened to Catherine at aestheticalterations? She seems to have disappeared off Instagram and her blog. Hope nothing bad has happened!
