Wearing Lately

Here are some updates of what I’ve been wearing these past few weeks.

I saw this Anthropologie dress while browsing a few weeks ago, and couldn’t resist ordering it. I have a special place in my heart for fringe, but lately some of my attempts at incorporating it haven’t been going so well (multiple fringed have made me look like I have colorful mustaches growing out of my toes). This dress incorporates it in a fun and easy to wear way though.

It’s sold out currently online, but I’d keep checking back for pop backs, which is how I got mine. I’d say it runs fairly true to size depending on how you like it to fit – I took a 00p. There’s also a few other great fringed dress options I found, including this adorable DODO BAR OR version, and this chic clean white sheath option, by Kate Spade. I wouldn’t mind adding either (or both) to my closet!

Suede Sandals Sole Society

We just came back from Hawaii, and I had bought these sandals about six weeks ago with the trip specifically in mind. I’m careful to always pack a pair of cheaper heels on resort holidays now, ever since I got a pair of gold trimmed suede Jimmy Choos soaked in ocean water. These Sole Society heels were my first foray into the brand and I was happy with what I received. A decent heel (but manageable), very simple and chic design, and comfortable soft suede. All for under $75. Mr. Feather liked these too (he’s always relieved when I buy simple shoes).

Here are the same shoes again on a different day – worn with another dress! They’re such easy summer heels.

Wearing Pink Sabi Anjou

Zara dress (old, similar linen/cotton dress for under $100), PASSAGE 88 Sabi shawl in pinks, Sole Society heels, Goyard Anjou tote

I certainly don’t wear dresses every day (or heels), but I have been finding that I’ve been able to wear heels more often, and even smaller bags! Baby Feather more easily entertains himself so I don’t need to lug around lots of toys and goodies, and he’s getting too heavy for his carrier, so he spends more time in the stroller (and thus I don’t have a 25 pound weight dragging on my torso, making heels very unstable).

I’ve been asked lots of questions about the Anjou tote, so hopefully another photo of the leather side out will help some of you.

Finally, what I wore on the plane last week heading to Hawaii.

Wearing Casual Shorts Gray Sabi

Gap oxford shirt, PASSAGE 88 Sabi shawl in gray, J.Crew shorts, Lucky sandals (now on sale for $52!), Hermes bag

The Bay Area is warm, Hawaii is warm, but planes can be cold, hence the shorts and scarf combination. This denim Garden Party is one of my favorite iterations of this style that Hermes has done – I love the colors and the orange contrast stitching! It’s also really light compared to the all leather versions.

I meant to thank you for the Akris trench recommendation earlier. I bought it and it is true love. I can’t wait to wear it come Fall.
