Recent Buys – Everlane Cashmere, Leopard Flats, and Diptyque Rose

I’ve received feedback that some of the items I share are quickly sold out, especially if I wait too long to post them, so I’ve made resolution to be faster and share more often. If you have any other reader requests, just let me know. In the meantime, here are some of my favorite recent buys.

Ivanka Trump Chic

Ivanka Trump “Chic” flats, $99: I was very pleasantly surprised by these. I have been looking for leopard flats for the longest time, to replace a very worn out pair of AGLs. I first tried these Lanvins, but they just didn’t fit my fit (devastating as they were 50% off, too).

I had these leopard flats in my shopping bag since late last year, and since they hadn’t gone on sale, ever, I bit the bullet and ordered (plus even full price, they’re under $100). They’re a great buy – really comfortable, and I love, love the little hidden wedge heel. They’re just enough to give you a bit of a boost, but really subtle, so the shoe isn’t screaming “hidden wedge”. Comfortable enough to wear all day, I think these are a great pick for both the office and the weekend. They run true to size for me – I’m a 36.5 (occasionally a 37 if its a smaller running European designer) and took that exact size in these flats.

I’m also wearing the Mars necklace in malachite. Also, the gray agate was just restocked for those who weren’t able to get it earlier.

Everlane Cropped Cashmere Crew

Everlane Cropped Cashmere Crew, $115: This is my favorite clothing item to date from Everlane. I love the cropped silhouette – I have a longer torso, so cropped items always are better for me in terms of lengthening my bottom half. The cashmere on this one feels softer than on my v-neck (reviewed here), for some reason.

My favorite way to wear this crew is layered over a blouse like above, or even a shirtdress, which I can’t wait to do once it gets warmer. I’m on the waitlist for the black now. If you’re new to Everlane, I’d be grateful if you used my referral link. Thank you!

The Frye Jackie Buttons I’m wearing above, are available in a slightly different leather treatment in black, for 50% off right now. A great deal for one of my favorite boots, ever. I’m also wearing one of my favorite Chanel red bags, and there are a quite a few Chanel red flaps available currently on Fashionphile, some for a nice discount off.

Diptyque Charlotte Olympia

Diptyque Rosaviola candle, $70, Diptyque Rose rollerball, $48: I love Diptyque (like every other girl out there), and also the scent of roses. So when I saw this candle, designed by Olympia Le-Tan, I was done for…it’s beautiful, and smells heavenly! I also have to admit that there’s a little part of me that can’t wait to burn it all the way through, just so I can have the jar to store little things in. Am I sick?

After I found the candle, I also realized that there was also a perfume rollerball, in a gorgeous rose scent. I love rollerballs since they’re easy to travel with, and I don’t use up enough perfume usually to justify larger sizes. This one came with a darling little sleeve, also designed by Le-Tan, so I had to have it.

Plus, the packaging for both is so gorgeous. I’m a sucker for good packaging. Perfect for a Valentine’s Day gift, no?

Diptyque Rosaviola

PS – there’s also this pretty scented oval, which I didn’t see in store!

What’re your Valentines Day plans, by the way?

Hi! I was eying the Diptyque Rosaviola candle and rollerball but haven’t had a chance to smell them. How is the rose scent compared to the Jo Malone Red Roses?? I totally agree about the jar! AND it’s pink!

Hi Sybil, I don’t have Jo Malone with me right now (but a good reminder to buy!). I would say that the Rollerball is more of a pure rose scent, whereas the Rosaviola has some violet, a little bit of candy scent to it as well. It’s a bit more “sweet” whereas the rollerball, at least to me, is more pure rose. Sorry I couldn’t be of more help!

    Hi Katherine!

Since you started me down the road to Everlane, I have been quite pleased with their sweaters — and this cropped one is on my list! I am a huge Diptyque fan, and bought the Rosaviola candle a couple of weeks ago. I really do like it, though to be honest, I preferred last year’s Valentine’s release (Rosamundi). The container/packaging on this one make it pretty special, though!

Those red Chanels are amazing! Love Fashionphile! I have one 227 Reissue flap, and am hoping to add a Classic flap at some point. 🙂

    Have a great week!

I’m hearing such fabulous things about Rosamundi – bummed I missed it, and will have to grab the next time around. Reissues are my favorite Chanel bag 🙂

I also just bought one of the cropped cashmere crews from Everlane. I was wary because of reviews saying the fit was boxy and wrong, but I absolutely love the fit! I’m glad I’m not alone. 🙂 I really want another one now, ha! I hope they release them again next fall/winter in more/different colors.

    Dear Katherine,
I was excited by the packaging of the Rosaviola candle but when I went to smell it, while it was nice it wasn’t as phenomenal (to me) as their Rosamundi candle (one of my favorites – lovely, lovely soft rose scent) from about three or four years ago. And whilst the packaging is super cute, again, I prefer the packaging of the Rosamundi candle and would rather spend that money on…I don’t know, probably food. 😀

Their Eau Rose scent is supposed to be most similar to the Rosamundi candle, so I have a small thing of of that, but when I spray it on myself, it changes too much. I might have to get the Oval…but I am holding out that they will re-release Rosamundi (they have already a few times) since it is always so popular — did you happen to get one of those when they released it? In case you didn’t I did a quick search and found this link of someone’s blog post where they have an image of the candle – I have this version (sadly all used up) and the newer version with a different box and glass.

And here is the newer glass version that came out when they re-released it.

What are your favorite Diptyque scents? It would be fun to read a post about that since it seems that most of your readers are Diptyque fans as well! And while we’re on the topic, what about Jo Malone candles? Any favorites? I find that Diptyque is stronger (which I prefer) and I prefer the packaging of Diptyque’s, but many friends rave about JM.

    Fun post!

Thank you! Man I really need to get some Rosamundi, everyone seems to love it. I love Santal, Fig and of course Baies like everyone else 🙂

I ordered a few items from Everlane after you posted about it, and have been very happy. The cashmere turtlenecks are very soft and the new Ottoman sweatshirt is adorable (ok, so I bought it in all three colors; I have a sweatshirt problem). I also bought two of the cropped crewneck (what can I say, when I like things I shop more) and they are great for layering – I wear them over little a-line dresses and over a blouse and skirt – the shorter length means you don’t lose your waist. I do think the sweaters run big. Looking forward to seeing what they come out with for spring!

So glad to hear you like the Ottoman! I’m going to be trying that one next, do you find it cropped at all?

Yes, it’s pretty cropped; I wear a longer t or tank under it. I love the texture and the sleeve shape – it is much more elegant than your average sweatshirt; the body is a little boxy but the sleeves and shoulders are not.

I won’t buy anything Ivanka Trump and support that horribly racist and bigoted family.
