All of a sudden this week, temperatures started spiking up into the 80s, and I ended up having to root around my closet in the mornings before work looking for lighter clothes to wear. I found this dress on super sale a month or so ago at Nordstrom, but wasn’t planning on wearing it until fall with jackets over it to tone down the pattern. I love a good leopard print but I feared that that red + leopard + over an entire dress might be pushing things dangerously into Peg Bundy territory.

Equipment dress (similar and on sale!)
Nordstrom belt
Chanel bag (similar)
Louboutin pumps

I tried on the dress alone earlier this week though and surprisingly liked it quite a bit! It’s silk so super comfortable and breezy. I have two Equipment dresses (the other is here) and I love them both.

I’ve probably mentioned it before but I have to say again that this Chanel bag was the very first Chanel item I ever bought (at the Madison shop in 2002) and this year marks its ten year anniversary! It’s lasted such a long time through some very adverse conditions (it was my go to “party” bag in college…just saying) and is still in great shape. Long live Chanel!

  5. You styled the dress very simply and polished it off with the belt, nude heels and great bag, so no Peg Bundy territory at all :) Very nice!

  6. LOVE your dress. As always you are impecably elegant!!!!!!
    Love, Vanda

  7. Oh this is such a fabulous dress on you Katherine. I think it’s just perfect the way your styled it.

  8. Great dress Katherine! A few days ago I was debating on whether I should buy a leopard dress or a leopard shirt and I ended up buying the shirt because I feared the dress was “too much”. You proved me wrong. I should have bought both! LOL

  9. WOAH. I think we actually wore it on the same day…I wore it on Tuesday…when it was like 80 here in SF.

I totally went opposite of your styling and punked the sh!t out of it. Kenzo/Shinjuku styles. Black 80s style Manolo suede booties, low slung prada chunky belt and just my Jason Wu Target Cat work tote. I was actually going comically for more like Kelly Bundy.

    So different!

  10. I love your dress Katherine !! Always well dressed dear !!

  12. Kat you look lovely in this leopard shirt dress. Adding that skinny belt is a great idea!
I bought my first Chanel bag 6 years ago but I sold it 2 years ago because I did not feel I was ready for Chanel (the style or something, did not feel right or work for me).
Maybe a few years down the line I’d be interested in Chanel again lol

  13. That dress is fabulous! I’d love for you to link up with me for Fashion Friday today honey! http://www.blondeepisodes.com/2012/10/fashion-friday-vlieger-vandam.html Have a great weekend! Kori xoxo

  15. I’ve recently discovered your blog and already red it all from the beginning till the end.
I am in love with all your interviews, especially the one with Sonita…such an amazing lady, but all of them are special plus Hermés lovers…it is just the cherry one top:)
I was wondering if you know the people from your interviews personally or are they net friends?
Anyway i became completely dependent on your blog…waiting every day for new wonderful posts!

  16. That dress looks so good on you. Sometimes it is very hard to pull off animal print in large doses without looking like Peg Bundy, but you pull it off beautifully.
