Hello from California! How are all your weekends, so far?
So years ago, the first time I ever wore this combination of tops, my snarky evil coworker (you should all know what I mean – if not then I am afraid that you might actually be this coworker, and I urge you to reconsider your lifestyle choices) – anyway, this coworker commented to me, “What, did you get that directly out of a J.Crew catalog page?”
J.Crew tops, Seven jean shorts, AGL shoes, Hermes bag
….even though I ignored her, the hilarious thing is yes- I did! I’m sure many of you are much more skilled than me but I personally would never come up with the idea of layering a lime green polo shirt with a short sleeved yellow polka dot blouse. Instead, I saw this exact combo modeled in the J.Crew catalog and ordered it! But not everybody has to know that, right?
Anyway, I’m also holding a Sprinkles box that contains our free cupcakes. My little tip to you – each day Sprinkles has a “secret word” that if you whisper it – will get you free cupcakes! Friend them on Twitter to get the word or just check it out here.

That yellow polka dots top is sooooooo cute and bright. I am pretty much buying everything polka dots for my little girl these days. I like how you layer it underneath a polo shirt (I wouldn't have thought about that).

First, I love your blog! Second, I've absolutely ordered total outfits out of JCrew. Last summer, the catalog paired madras shorts with a checkered button- down and a cashmere cardigan. When I wore the combo, my brother commented that he didn't know you could wear two prints together, because his daughters always yelled at him when he tried to do that! His daughter chastised him, saying, yeah but you're not cool like Aunt Amy! Haha!
